Zoe and Ella's 4th Birthday: Part One

The past few days have been a whirlwind of fun birthday celebrations over at our house. It's been busy, busy, busy in a really good way. Ella and Zoe's party was Saturday afternoon, at our favorite nature center. The theme was FROGS, there were lots of friends, some family and the weather was fantastic!!

This was taken at home -- for the party I added real pink Gerber Daisies, in place of these fake yellow-orange ones.

The nature center gave the kids small magnifying boxes with little stones and shells in them -- which was very nice. Simple and sweet : )

Cowgirl Hats, Ballet Class and Bicycle Queens

Ella and Zoe have been keeping busy.

They love their new cowgirl hats (thanks Missy, for the fun idea), and if I let them they would wear them to bed. But since that's not an option --- jumping before bed has been their new source of entertainment . . . .

They love their hats soooooo much, they wear them EVERYWHERE -- including to ballet class. And if Ms. Zachari would let them they would wear them while dancing -- but since that's not an option either they proudly wear them while walking to class . . .

And if getting new cowgirl hats wasn't enough, Zoe and Ella have been riding their Big Girl Bikes whenever they get a chance (thanks to cousins Lauren and Erin who passed their bikes along to Ella and Zoe last summer). Riding bikes has become the BIGGEST new past-time over here. Seriously, these girls will ride and ride and ride and ride and ride and ride . . .

In fact, they rode so much yesterday one of Ella's bike pedals actually came off. But we got it fixed and the riding continued . . .

And if I let them, they would wear their cowgirl hats while riding too. But since wearing their bike helmets while riding their bikes is the ONLY option, the cowgirl hats are not an option when they are Bicycle Queens.

I've had fun looking at pictures from when Ella and Zoe were just a year old, and decided to finally play along with Cheryl (Way Back When-esday) at Twinfatuation.

We're getting ready for Easter over here, and for Ella and Zoe's FOURTH Birthday!! I think I will probably say this every year, but I can not believe they are going to be four years old in just 19 days -- it seems so old in some ways.

I also think looking at pictures from past years will always put a smile on my face, like it did when I looked at their Easter pictures from their first three years.
