Princess Party Birthday Party

Ella and Zoe went to their friend Jia's 5th birthday party yesterday afternoon. It was a combination of Princesses and Fancy Nancy (with one cool Prince there too).

The girls chose their dresses and accessories, and had definite ideas how they wanted me to do their hair. They both asked for me to put it up, and Ella wanted a tiara while Zoe wanted a pink boa with one flower. I thought they looked darling : )

The tiara was tight so right before we left Ella had me put two white flowers in her hair instead, so it was like a Flower Crown; and despite somewhat itchy dresses we were ready to go ....

On the drive to the party Zoe told Tom and me she felt like a real princess and Ella said she felt very sparkly -- those little comments just make me smile : )

The party itself was so much fun. Really, lots of little girls in fancy princess/party dresses, magic wands, sparkling jewelry, a nail salon, a hair salon AND a very cool princess cake (that didn't even melt despite the heat and humidity), made the whole afternoon very fancy and very fun!!

We're off today to visit my Dad. He has been in isolation in the ICU for pneumonia and bronchitis, and was even tested for tuberculosis!! Thankfully the TB results are coming back negative, but he's been pretty sick, is very weak and has lost quite a bit of weight (weight that he didn't have to lose in the first place). He was moved to a Rehab Center yesterday and once he gets stronger he'll be able to go back home with Mom. So today we're bringing him some goodies to help cheer him up, and hopefully his recovery will be quick and he'll be back home in no time at all.

Thank yuo for stopping in. I have missed so many of my bloggy friends this summer. I really was just thinking about you the other day. Your girls are so sweet! Sweet Pea loves this post as well. Too bad we are not closer for playdates! Blessings Catherine

Glad your dad is improving. Pneumonia can be so serious. Rehab is a good sign. Hope he gets his strength back and feels like himself again soon. I'm sure seeing you all helps!

Thanks for the sweet messages/thoughts/prayers regarding my dad!! He looked a lot better yesterday than a few days ago -- and though he's very weak and tires easily and quickly, he's moving in the right direction : ) Jeremi
