Making Valentines

Lots of Love.
Lots of Time.
Lots of Fun, too.

But this year's Valentines really took a lot of work and a lot of time.

Things started out great --- the girls were very excited to make their own.  They brainstormed a few different ideas and happily decided together on creating BUTTERFLIES (which they thought was perfect because they're in the butterfly class at school).

They cut ....

They glued ....

They added pixie sticks .....

They drew little butterfly faces ....

.... and they decorated (wearing their new super soft, super cute, sparkly princess pajamas from Grandma Della) ....

Towards the end I heard Zoe say, 'oh good, I only have 3 left and then I'm done!'.  That was before she realized they still had to put on the antennae AND write their names, poor thing.

So Zoe and Ella learned a lot about perseverance and how hard work pays off.

They each wrote their names on all 22 of the Valentines (still wearing their new pajamas even though it was the next day) ....

.... and they learned about cooperation and how much their mommy loves them --- I put the antennas on.

They both did a super job!!
They love of they turned out ....

.... and they are very excited to give them to their friends and teachers on Monday.

They also LOVE that they're done making them!

I am too -- 44 antennas was a lot of work : )

THose are so cute, Jeremi! Charlotte was all excited to start hers. We got 1/4 of the way through and she was bored and whining. UGH. Back at it again tomorrow!

As always, they are sooooo cute. Such beauties.

I'm so impressed. Very cute Valentines. I wimped out and did store-bought. And even then, Pierce complained about writing his name.

I'll have to keep this in mind for next year!

Those are awesome! And BIG KUDOS to your girls (and you!) for having the perseverence to finish them! I know that was a lot of work, but what a great lesson for your girls!

Hope you all have a fantastic Valentine's Day!

That is so cute! They are really doing great with cutting! I hope you have a happy Valentine's Day! My daughter has a really high fever right now so plans for cookies and making Valentin's are on hold. The money set is from Melissa and Doug. It is a great one. I got it at the teachers store, but you probably can either order it or maybe find it at another store. I love their things. Have a great day!

I've had this craft idea stuck in my head since last year...I just looked it up and sent the link to a fellow twin mama in our MoMs group. :) We're doing a little Valentine's Day party / story / craft in a couple of weeks, and I think this looks like so much fun, and something that could be adapted to younger and older kids.

Hope you're doing well and everyone has transitioned back into the swing of things after the holidays!
